Why we built Pup Personality

Every dog owner already knows their dog has a personality. The goofball who greets the mail carrier like a celebrity. The quiet strategist who watches the room before deciding anyone is worth their time. We built Pup Personality to put words to what you already feel about your dog.

It started as a simple question between dog people: if there's a framework for understanding how humans think and connect, why isn't there a warm, thoughtful version for the animals we share our lives with? We loved how personality typing gives people a shared language for their quirks, and we wanted that same "oh, that's so them" moment for dogs.

So we built a test, not a gimmick. The quiz looks at four sides of your dog's temperament, the same dimensions that shape how any personality shows up in the world: how they recharge (Social Energy), how they take in the world (Curiosity Style), how they make choices (Decision Style), and how they like their days to run (Lifestyle). Twenty everyday questions about real behavior add up to one of 16 archetypes, from The Party Animal to The Shadow Strategist.

We cared most about two things: that it feels delightful, and that it's genuinely useful. The illustrations are hand-drawn. The archetype write-ups are written to make you laugh in recognition. And every result comes with real bonding and training tips, because understanding your dog's wiring should help you actually live better together, not just hand you a label.
