Overview

Pup Personality ("we", "our", or "the app") is a fun, entertainment-only personality quiz for dogs. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Data We Collect

Locally stored data: Your pet's name, optional breed selection, quiz answers, and personality results are stored on your device using local storage. This data is not transmitted to any server. Certain non-identifying details (such as breed, personality type, and anonymous quiz responses) are sent to Firebase Analytics as part of anonymous usage events, as described under Third-Party Services below.

Photos: If you choose to add photos to your share card, those images are accessed from your device's photo library and are only used locally to create the share image. We do not upload, store, or process your photos on any server.

Advertising

The app may display ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. If you grant tracking permission, ads may be personalised based on your activity across other apps and websites. You can opt out of personalised ads at any time via your device Settings under Privacy > Tracking.

Third-Party Services

In addition to Google AdMob (described above), the app uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as which personality types are most common and how often share features are used. No personally identifiable information is collected through Firebase Analytics. The app also uses Firebase Remote Config to deliver app content, including the Pup of the Day spotlight, the weekly Pup Quiz, product recommendations, and version update information, without requiring an app update. Remote Config does not collect any personal data from your device. The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports, which help us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports may include device type, OS version, and stack traces but do not contain personally identifiable information. The app offers an optional one-time in-app purchase. Purchase verification is handled by RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID and transaction receipt to validate your entitlement. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or payment details. The actual payment is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect or store any payment information. Only a local flag confirming your purchase status is saved on your device.

Affiliate Links

Some product recommendations in the app (such as treat suggestions and toy ideas) are affiliate links. If you tap a link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. These links open in your device browser or the App Store. We do not track whether you click these links or make a purchase, and no personal data is shared with the retailers. The products shown are selected based on your dog's personality type and are not personalised advertisements.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require account creation or any personal details beyond the pet's name you choose to enter.

Data Retention and Deletion

All quiz data is stored locally on your device. You can delete any pet's results at any time by long-pressing the pet card and tapping Delete. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. Anonymous analytics data previously sent to Firebase cannot be recalled or deleted, as it is not linked to your identity.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can view, modify, or delete your data at any time within the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the app with an updated "Last updated" date.
